SALUTE TO THE RED ARMY [Main Title]

A compilation of newsreel reports on celebrations in Britain marking Red Army Day (February 23rd) 1943.

The film begins and ends with extracts from the speech by Anthony Eden at the big pageant/concert at the Albert Hall, London, and includes scenes of parades at Bristol (Salute taken by First Lord of the Admiralty A V Alexander, as units of all services, civil and military, march past bombsites called by the commentary "wounds as honourable as those of Stalingrad itself"), Oxford (Minister of Information, Brendan Bracken, on stand), Cambridge, Cardiff and Manchester (Marshal of RAF Sir Edmund Ellington on stand) and of a meeting in Glasgow (Duff Cooper speaks).
