WESSEX HAS.3 HELICOPTERS ARE OPERATED BY 814 SQUADRON [Allocated Title]
Stock shots, albeit not very good ones, of the then relatively new Wessex HAS.3.
Reel One - Black and White. LS across airfield as air-sea rescue Wessex 266 is towed to park. Wessex HAS.3 272 approaches the field and lands - the crew deplane, and others embark while the helicopter, engines still running, is refuelled. 272 takes off. Reel Two - Colour. Aerial LS to Wessex 3 in flight over countryside accompanied by a float-equipped Alouette. The two aircraft cross the coastline. HA to airstrip as Rescue helicopter runs up, and MS across the strip as it lifts off, passing right to left behind HAS.3 271, on which the winged tiger's mask badge of 814 Squadron is just visible. LS to 266 parked in front of a hangar - a Land Rover is towing 274 out of the hangar and ground crew are unfolding its rotors. 272 waits, a hitch on its tail-wheel, ready for towing out.
