Full description
IV. M10 manoeuvres for a broadside shoot in shallow water - caption notes that the level of the turret ring dictates the maximum wading depth once the waterproofing seal is broken by traversing the gun, and that a new seal has since been developed to overcome this difficulty. M10 opens fire - in the background the M7 also fires and then drives ashore. The M10 continues firing, turret at 3 o'clock, and then reverses onto the beach, where experts examine the turret seal and barrel sleeve, which has slipped down with the recoil. Experts inspect M7. HA.MCU along 105mm barrel, and pan down to breech and shell tray. Two soldiers examine spent cartridges, distorted about the mouth. Final CUs of the breech of 3 in AT gun, and three ready-use rounds of M73 AP with tracer.
