II. Onboard HMS Implacable. CUs of drop tank, decorated with the legend HONKY TONK TO TOKIO. Deck crew secure tank to Seafire 123, one of a range of aircraft parked with wings folded. CU pan to tanks (undecorated, and one rather dented) beneath two other Seafires. Tattered flying operations flag is hoisted. HA as a range of Seafires is flown off. Seafires land on, and operations flag lowered.

I. Reel One. 17 August, 1945. Admiral Fraser transfers from HMS Duke of York to a destroyer, and thence to USS Missouri where, on No 2 gundeck, he invests Admiral Halsey with KBE.

III. US Third Fleet. LS from King George V Class battleship to Essex Class carrier and a destroyer refuelling from an oiler - a second US destroyer is underway on cameraship's port bow. LS as bomb (?) explodes ahead of Sumner Class destroyer, and cut to flak speckled sky.

IV. Onboard HMS Implacable. Seafire lands on. Firefly 271 skids across the deck, having collapsed port undercarriage leg strut on landing - underwing fuel tank breaks away. LS as an aircraft (?) splashes down off the starboard bow - carrier passes oil slick and debris. HA.MS to the leading deck edge as Seafires and an Avenger take off.

V. HMS King George V. MS from the quarterdeck as the battleship refuels from USS Caney (AO 95) - on the oiler's starboard side, the destroyer USS Collett (730) is also refuelling. A crewman throws tins of rations across the gap between the battleship and the tanker, while cigarettes and cigars are transferred across by line.

VI. Reel Two. Out of focus sequence onboard Implacable. Observer is handed radar director equipment (?) and he and pilot are strapped in. MS to leading deck edge as Seafires and Fireflies take off.

VII. Confused sequence showing carrier strike on the Japanese coast. Aerial view of the fleet from Firefly - camera-aircraft is in company with two others, Nos 279 and 274. Shots of the Japanese coast - a smoke pall rises from a burning installation, or a vessel close inshore. CUs of the pilot and observer of Firefly 274 - the pilot gives a thumbs up. Two Corsairs from Victorious provide cover for the Fireflies. Further aerial views of the fleet - 279 and camera-aircraft fly over Implacable - Dido Class cruiser, carriers and escorting destroyers go about. Cut back to brief aerial view of the Japanese coast and companion aircraft. Sequence shot aft along deck of Implacable, showing Avengers landing on, and safety barriers being lowered to allow aircraft to taxi forward. Fireflies 274 and 272 run up. Sequence shot from Firefly taking off from Implacable - aerial view of the carrier, escorting destroyer, the Dido Class cruiser HMS Black Prince, etc. Dusk - Fireflies circle Implacable, camera-aircraft lands on. Final MS over tail of camera-aircraft, now parked beyond safety barrier, to second Firefly as it touches down.
