HA aft from island across wet flight deck to mixed aircraft parked aft, chocked up with wings folded - Victorious and Implacable are visible in line astern of Formidable - two Hellcats are testing their engines. CU as cradle carrying a torpedo is manhandled beneath the bay of Avenger 480. Shots of companion ships, including Implacable and HMS King George V. Dawn - a running range of Corsairs. Sequence shot from one of a formation of Avengers just taken off from Formidable - most of this aerial sequence is out of focus. LA along deck to Corsair 119, parked with wings folded. I. Reel One. MS aft as Corsair 146 is struck down on the forward elevator, and HA down the lift well as aircraft handlers roll her back into the hangar. Avengers of 1848 Squadron take off. Tractor No 4 tows Corsair 144. LS of companion, HMS Victorious. MLS through the barriers as Corsair lands on - they are lowered as aircraft 125 taxies forward, wings folding - Corsair 116 follows. 500-pound bomb on trolley comes up on elevator and is taken to Corsair 146, where the bomb is lifted up on a cradle to the suspension point below the wing - an armourer uses a spanner to adjust the bomb carrier. Tractor No 4 tows Corsair 119 aft, where a pilot boards the aircraft. Sequence showing divine service held on flight deck - a brisk wind is blowing. Hellcats 126 and 119 land on. Two Avengers fly past. MS to the rear of the aircraft as an Avenger folds wings and taxies forward. LS of two escorting destroyers. Rear-Admiral Vian watches from the island. Lieutenant-Commander directs flight deck operations - he wears a complete anti-flash outfit. HA from the island to a centre-line range of four Corsairs and four Hellcats as the aircraft take off. Corsair lands on. CU of airscrew of a Corsair as the engine starts up. Another centre-line range is flown off. HA from island as Corsair 134 taxies forward onto elevator, is chocked up and struck below, engine still running. Corsair lands on and is waved forward by the marshalling director. Landing aircraft join others parked along the leading deck edge.

AA lookouts scan the sky. MLS aft as Corsair 141 commences take off run. Early morning flight of Corsairs, the aircraft silhouetted against the dawn sky as they take off. Final MS to island from aft on the starboard side - deck crew climb up onto the deck as flying operations are completed - a man enters frame left carrying chocks.
