Panning shot of noticeboard (124 A/F.S.P.), and of sentry standing guard, as road convoy passes. Despatch riders precede the convoy, along a country road; various shots of the convoy (trucks, jeeps, trailers) on the move through villages etc, the convoy passes through Salisbury; and join other RAF lorries in a yard. A mechanic works on a lorry engine, applying waterproofing compound, and fixing a hose-joint. An RAF officer addresses the convoy crew. Various shots of trucks lined up in a field (types 1300, 1200, 1500 and 315), and of tents nearby, men lie down on blankets outside tents, one reads the News of the World. A cook stands outside the stones cutting bacon, while two others sharpen knives. Men march to the cookhouse (Camp 1 is written on a can) and are given bread rations. Drivers are briefed, and the waterproofing process continues. A long queue of trucks prepares to move off. Another country road sequence shows trucks towing airfield construction equipment.
