(1) "MoF Food Flash" - "Before you go to get your new ration book, fill in page 4 of the present book. This one. No. Don't tear it out. Take the book and your identity card when you go to get your new book." (Suggested identity - Second Series - No. 56 - "Ration Book No.1" - 13th May 1946, No. 57 "Ration Book No. 2" - 20th May 1946, or No. 75 - "Clean Ration Book" - 24th September 1946)

(2) "MoF Food Flash" - "To keep your bread fresh longer wrap it in a clean dry cloth, place it on an airy shelf or hang it up in a string bag. Don't waste bread by letting it get stale."
