Damir, a student at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, writes to his fellow thespians in Sarajevo.
Damir gives his message from the back steps of the Academy. He addresses all of the drama students in Sarajevo because he wants them to know that even from the relative safety of Zagreb, they are thinking about them and will do everything they can to help them. He walks through the school to his locker and pulls a mask out. Sitting on the steps by the lockers he explains that it is a symbol of his job but that people also wear ‘the mask’ in their everyday lives. He says that people wear it when they talk about Sarajevo. He hopes that the lives of actors in Sarajevo, whether wearing the mask in public or private life, will improve.
