HMS Superb (Swiftsure Class Cruiser) is tied up in English waters. A tug, pulling several ammunition lighters, draws alongside. On HMS Superb the ratings catch ropes from men on a lighter before sliding down these ropes onto the lighter's deck. The tarpaulin is raised and pulled back (several takes) and the hatch covers are removed. Boxes are placed in a sling and hauled up to the cruiser. On deck other ratings handle 4-inch and 6-inch shells (one by a 'clumsy rating'). Boxes are undone and small ammunition is stored.
