The Indian Division receives visit from Lieutenant-General The Maharajah of Kashmir, War Cabinet Representative who speaks to them, then leaves by flying jeep. Scenes of dead German soldiers and German prisoners "who have lost the swagger". Allied armour advances on Santa Lucia, as "Indian troops form a link in the steel that steadily encircles Germany".

Mother and daughter discuss the flying bomb with the girls. Later, Lady Colville gives a swimming party. Commentary notes that "among the guests, right among them, was Susie (a dog) ready to volunteer for anything".

Commentary notes, "The Commander-in-Chief's message said what we feel, 'what you've done will long be remembered.' " Commentary makes reference to 'The Famous Fourth [Division]'. Awards for gallantry are announced, prior to arrival.

Stacked supplies. Medical treatment for Burmese locals. Allied casualties are evacuated on stretchers; a Sunderland flying boat of RAF 230 Squadron approaches. Wounded are ferried to the Sunderland on Lake Indawgyi and they board the aircraft. Sunderland takes off. Aircrew on board and the Brahmaputra river below. Waiting medics receive the casualties who are taken away by ambulance.
