II. Aerial reconnaissance precedes Finnish attack in Eastern Karelia. Animation map of Eastern Front from Murmansk to Leningrad. Junkers Ju 88 taxies on snow covered airfield in Eastern Karelia after reconnaissance flight over enemy front. Inside photographic darkroom, marked on door with five-armed swastika sign, negatives are developed immediately, dried on wheel, and then evaluated by Luftwaffe and Finnish personnel. Photos show evidence of forthcoming Bolshevik attack, so message is sent to commander of threatened sector and order given by telephone to mount local counter-attack. Finnish troops in snowsuits ski through wood in single file and artillery, 3.7cm Pak and 7.62mm Maxim machine gun open fire. Finns occupy blazing town.

I. Italian and German air attacks in North Africa. (Abrupt start.) German and Italian planes in North Africa, while facing a numerically superior enemy, are providing continual support to their own ground forces. Ground-to-air and air-to-air views of Ju 87s; five Savoia-Marchetti SM 79 bombers bomb enemy transport columns and troop concentrations in Cyrenaican desert below. Air-to-air of Messerschmitt Bf 110s. On ground Italian 7.5cm Flak is elevated and truck-mounted machine-gun fired by turbaned soldier. IV. Film proves that Tolstoy's house has not been pillaged. Animation map of Eastern Front from Moscow to Orel. (Abrupt start to picture and commentary.) External view of Leo Tolstoy's large country house from across icy river shows property to be totally undamaged contrary to enemy claims that it has been pillaged and destroyed by German forces.

V. Germans advance across snow on Moscow. Reconnaissance forces and armour advance into distance along road which curves over gentle depression in snow covered landscape. Cold is said to be enormous test, as Pzkpfw III and Sdkfz 222 armoured car, fitted with anti-grenade nets and three grenade launchers, slowly pass by. Armour stands halted before anti-tank gun opens fire, causing blaze on horizon; close-up shows KV1 tank burning. Infantry mount attack, stretched out wide across snow, and in evening darkness Russian houses and armour blaze.

VI. Germans and Italians mount air and ground attacks against British in North Africa. Animation map of North Africa. German airfield in desert comes under British air attack, but explosions in distance leave undamaged Junkers Ju 52 transport planes in foreground. Fighter pilots climb into cockpits of Messerschmitt Bf 109s to counter-attack; camera-gun film records the downing of two fighters (Spitfires ?) and a frontal attack against a bomber (Boston ?). On ground General Rommel stands with binoculars to his eyes, with an Italian general beside him. Italian heavy artillery opens fire against British armour.
