Marines wade ashore from LCAs. LS of the invasion fleet. Graphics indicate the location of Palau Island. LS of the effect of the naval bombardment - a smoke shrouded coastline. CU of marines on board an LCA. American troops firing from the beach into the nearby jungle. US 75mm pack Howitzer. A Sherman advances, followed by a file of infantry. Browning .30 MG. Bazooka fires - effect of the shot. Infantry flamethrower flushes out a foxhole. Japanese dead. American casualties on stretchers receive first aid. LVT MK 2 in the background. A brief second episode, entitled "In Memoriam ... Damien Parer, War Cameraman", shows a US war cameraman at work, indicates that Parer was at Tobruk, and superimposes his photograph over film of the war in the Far East.
