British soft-skinned vehicles tow 25 pounders and limbers across desert. The field guns are manoeuvred by hand into position, once successfully emplaced the guns are loaded and fired at an unseen target.

I. 'SIR MILES LAMPSON REVIEWS TROOPS.' Sir Miles Lampson, British ambassador to Egypt, arrives at parade ground to review some of the first Free French units raised for combat in the western desert (26 August 1940). Sir Miles and Lady Lampson are escorted by a detachment of Moroccan Spahis. An inspection and march past follow. A Free French infantry unit receives new tricolours from Baron Benoist, the Chairman of the National Committee of Free French in Egypt.

III. 'CAPTURED ITALIAN BOMBER.' Alexandria. Detailed examination by British troops of captured and damaged Italian bomber, Savoia-Marchetti SM 79, while Egyptian civilians and crew members of HMAS Sydney look on. An SM 79 Bomb release mechanism is displayed for the benefit of the camera.
