I. In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, boy scouts celebrate the first "pan-American jamboree", held on the island of Fundao; 5000 scouts from 10 countries. The Latin American equivalent of the Ceremony of the Flag is shown, and the Scouts prepare a meal, then play games. II. Production of balsa-wood model aircraft, at the Veron factory in southern England, is described; 5000 models per week are made here and are later sold in kit form. Enthusiasts fly complete models on an old airstrip; planes are fuelled up and flown by remote control.
III. Cranfield College of Aeronautics in England, where students learn about aeronautics in the classroom and then put this knowledge to practical use by flying. A model supersonic jet is tested, as is undercarriage assembly. In the measurements laboratory, film loops are made of some of these tests; these technical film loops have revolutionised educational methods.
