RADIO IN BATTLE [Main Title]

Demonstration of the importance of radio communications in "modern" warfare.

The film opens and closes with scenes in a radio factory (including some interesting shots of durability testing - ability to withstand temperature extremes, wear on moving parts, vibration etc) and general shots of radio on a destroyer, a Catalina flying boat, etc. Most of the film, however, is given over to an imaginary battle, in which reconnaissance vehicles, individual units and (Cruiser Mk IV) tanks, different levels of Headquarters, air control and individual (Blenheim) bombers in ground support roles are all linked by radio. "Success is as much due to radio as to tanks" etc. Incidentally, film has some close-ups of radio equipment (eg a small infantry set, using throat microphones) - but main concern is with "communication" not details.
