Lieutenant General Sir Oliver Leese is met by his Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Sir Henry Pownall, and C-in-C Ceylon, Major General Wetherall, as he arrives in Colombo to take up his new appointment as head of 11th Army Group. b. Difficulty of supplying troops in Burma is illustrated by film of native workers propelling boats upstream on the borders of Assam. Workers unload boats at rapids before dragging the craft upstream and reloading. Mules transport the supplies from the river head on to the troops (not seen).

Allied Military Government proclamations on a wall state bilingually that English is the official language and pronounce the dissolution of the Nazi Party.
