Drancy, site of a concentration camp during the German occupation of France, is now used as a detention centre for men and women of all ages suspected of collaboration. Prisoners are seen wandering round in the open. b. Scenes during the liberation of Lyons: FFI members march off collaborators while others return ("German") machine-gun fire directed at them from the large hospital facing the Rhone. Hospital is later set ablaze and patients are evacuated. c. US soldiers in the Metz area cross the Moselle. d. Scenes during the liberation of Antwerp: British soldiers enter the city, welcomed by population then engage in final mopping up operations. Armoured vehicles cross the Albert canal into Holland.
