II. "A two-gun story." Demonstration of the Austen, an Australian version of the Sten gun. Target-firing, then gun is submerged in sea, lifted out and fired again. Austen is quickly dismantled. Demonstration also of the American .45 sub-machine gun which dismantled can fit into a brief-case and weighs less than 9 lbs. Target-firing (450 rounds per minute).

Eisenhower and Admiral of the Fleet Cunningham, on board HMS Aurora, watch the naval and aerial bombardment of the island which preceded the approach of landing craft (unsuccessfully attacked by German bombers). Map shows how shipping route to East is now clear.
