An incendiary bomb is hit by flak immediately below the camera plane and causes a dazzling flare. Reconnaissance photos taken after the raid on 5 March and then again after 12 March reveal the severe damage caused to the Krupps factory.

Demonstrative scenes as soldiers from Leningrad and the Volkhov fronts link up, then the attack continues with the crossing of the Neva south of Schlüsselburg, and the raising of the Red Army flag after heavy street fighting. Inside Leningrad itself, citizens read the news in Pravda and factory meetings celebrate the liberation of the city.
