I. Reichsarbeitsführer Konstantin Hierl visits construction workers on the Channel coast. Cyclist battalion in the defence area takes cover beside road as formation of British medium bombers (Bostons ?) passes overhead. 8.8cm flak marked with multiple score rings and 2cm Flakvierling 38 open fire. II. Gun emplacements protect a small harbour, presumably on French coast. Kommandogerät 40 Flak predictor, with battery of 8.8cm flak in summer field opening up against twin-engined plane overhead. III. 8.8cm flak on coast fires at Bostons overhead. Ground views of bombs blasting Caen in distance. Five Marauders pass overhead and one bomb is visible falling. Pall of smoke shrouds town. 2cm Flakvierling mounted on railway truck in siding where time reads 5.05. Three groups of six planes fly overhead in formation. Fw 190s overhead. 8.8cm flak opens fire. IV. As dusk falls over the Channel coast, one-man torpedo of Type Neger or Marder sets off to attack Allied invasion shipping. Flames and explosions on horizon suggest success. Daylight view over fenced coastline as torpedo pilot emerges from torpedo and walks ashore through surf carrying perspex dome, with two comrades. (Item 9 of DW 732/39/44 of 14/9/1944)
