Audience of female workers watch women model various garments on boardwalk, including dark dress made from man's evening dress, which show that used clothes can be turned into practical and attractive items of wear. Partially visible sign on wall is saying by Hitler that the heart is the strongest force in the world.

V. Inspector General of Army officer recruitment sees officer candidates in Reichsarbeitsdienst. Generalleutnant Specht, holder of Oak Leaves to Knights Cross, sees parade by RAD youths bearing spades and watches outdoor instruction. RAD provides members with pre-military training, as youths and Specht fire at target with rifle, and emphasises sport: youths engage in tug of war, do physical training (End of Reel 1) and complete obstacle course. Specht together with woman in RAD uniform look on as bare-torsoed recruits charge and tussle with each other in unarmed combat.

Hitler and Mussolini walk together through hall of palace during meeting where allies decided to continue struggle side by side until final victory and to put all their resources into the decisive encounters which are approaching. Also seen in discussion are Marshal Graziani with Generalfeldmarschall Keitel, another German with an Italian officer and the Chief of the Reichs Chancellory Otto Meissner talking with another Italian. At end of meeting Mussolini is accompanied by German general and Graziani on inspection of troops in uniform of Italian Social Republic. Mussolini reportedly told Hitler that he would soon activate Italy's forces.

On board larger vessel, Kapitän Paul Hellmann, commander of blockade-runner Vorsurno, receives s first Knights Cross awarded to German Merchant Navy from Admiral, who also decorates members of the crew. Prior to sailing, convoy commanders are briefed in officers mess by convoy captain. Convoy is protected by Type M-35 minesweepers, Flak cruiser Niobe and by barrage balloons above the small merchant vessels as well as by Heinkel He 115 seaplane (flying off snow-covered coast - Norway ?) and Junkers Ju 88 flying low over vessel. Film taken onboard Niobe during (simulated) alarm and enemy air attack records flak firing and apparent crash of shot-down plane in sea. Convoy reportedly reaches destination without loss.

Grenadiers and volunteer units of Latvian Waffen SS (19th Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS, Lettisches 2 ?) have reportedly repulsed Soviet attacks and have themselves pushed forward. Soldiers in snow-camouflage smocks wait in trench and bring forward ca 15cm shells for guns positioned on part of plain where snow has thawed. Men take cover in trenches during Russian air attack; flak puffs pepper the sky and wreckage of plane suggests attack was foiled. German counterattack commences at 4pm, with heavy artillery barrage, mortar fire from trench, MG 34 fire and Nebelwerfer barrage prior to advance by Pzkpfw IVs and grenadiers widely spaced across snow. Tracer fire is visible against dark sky, as camera pans across blaze in distance. Infantry and Waffen SS cross Soviet barbed wire defences to reach devastated wood where Russian armour lies wrecked. Over film of Russian prisoners of Asiatic visage commentary states that "to them the British want to relinquish Europe". German soldiers pass through blazing Russian village; all carry white boxes marked "Only for front line infantry fighters", from which one young Waffen SS soldier extracts waffle which he eats with pleasure. Others enjoy their first cigarette since the battle; one shows hair breadth escape from bullet which penetrated helmet. Grenadiers and Latvian volunteers of the Waffen SS are decorated with Iron Cross in frontline trench.
