Correspondence beginning with the tendering for the work of framing the war artists pictures. Three companies were involved in the tendering process: Alfred Stiles, J Tanous, and C H West. Stiles were the successful company and instructions were then circulated to artists. Other companies also wrote offering their services, independently of the tendering process.
The remainder of the file comprises correspondence - with galleries, artists and framers - and other administrative papers relating to framing work, such as invoices or statements of account. The Rowley Gallery were also involved in framemaking for the Ministry.
