Mansbridge submitted some examples of his work, along with an offer of his services, in December 1939. Although no appointment was made, Mansbridge obtained permission from the Air Ministry to make portraits. In August 1940, one of these was acquired (LD 317) (7) for 15 guineas. A further picture, IWM:ART LD 374, was purchased in the same month for 15 guineas; see notes at (14). The final acquisition was IWM:ART LD 414, in October 1940, for 15 guineas (25).
The remaining papers concern the administration of photographs, frames and other matters.
