McEvoy was proposed to the Imperial War Museum for naval subjects. The file largely concerns arrangements for these numerous portraits, including obtaining sittings from the living subjects, and photographs of the dead subjects.
In addition, McEvoy was also asked by the Ministry of Information to paint a picture of air defences at night for the British War Memorials Committee.
He travelled to France in August 1918 as part of work for the IWM Naval Section.
The file also includes lists of works (91-93) for inclusion in the exhibition 'Sea Power' at the Grosvenor Gallery in 1918.
