This large file continues to cover all aspects of the administration of Orpen's works in the IWM's collection, including loan, reproduction and copying requests. It includes a presscutting, source unidentified, showing a photograph of the hanging committee of the Royal Academy's exhibition to commemorate recently deceased artists including Orpen; loan requests to the Birmingham City Art Gallery and Manchester City Art Gallery; negative comments from a German visitor about 'The Signing of Peace'.
There is also correspondence relating to the long-term loan of five Orpens and two Sargents from the National Portrait Gallery (Wakefield Trust). Further details of this loan can be found in file (Old Ref 359)
Confirmation of the transfer to the IWM of the copyright in the photograph of the earlier version of 'The Unknown Soldier' before the soldiers and cherubs were removed.
