[BASIC ACCESSION RECORD] A large collection of papers, correspondence, photograph albums, scrapbooks, and other information relating to The Fraternity of the Buckshee Wheelers. The Buckshee Wheelers were a fraternity of service men who were interested in cycling before, during, and after the Second World War and who were stationed in the Middle East, mainly Egypt and Palestine between October 1941 and 1950. The collection contains nominal rolls, membership lists, rolls of honour, correspondence, issues of 'Shufti' the annual newsletter starting in 1954, the Fraternity's scrap books and photograph albums relating to road races, time trials, annual reunions, the annual Bully Beef Trophy from 1944, results of races, group trips to the Middle East on the 25th anniversary (1966) and 40th Anniversary (1981), as well as photographs, newscuttings, and other material sent to the Fraternity by some of its members.
