A collection of 17 letters, postcards and Christmas cards (37pp, plus envelopes, April 1966 - September 1975), written by a former Special Operations Executive (SOE) 'F' Section agent to friend and former BOAC colleague Brian Watkins, when he was living in Staines, Middlesex, moving to Whangaparaoa, New Zealand in late 1967, and later moving to Alicante, Spain, with details of his life with wife Doris, and including a brief account of a US TV interview about his wartime experiences including interrogation by Klaus Barbie, and turning down an offer for him to return to Buchenwald concentration camp where he and his brother Henry were held prisoner. Together with: his cloth British SAS Parachute Wings insignia; a pencil sketch design, with a printed complete version used as a card for telephone numbers, of parachute wings insignia, with the names 'Auguste' and 'Artus', his and his brother's SOE code names, known as 'the twins', two stick men standing on crossed swords over the initials 'SOE "F", surrounded by laurel leaves'; his business card; two book marks with his printing company's details and the 'Auguste, Artus' logo; a reference he wrote for Brian Watkins, on headed paper with the same logo (November 1965); a newspaper cutting about his experiences and how let down he felt about his health, pension, and his field promotion not being recognised; and a copy of the book 'No Banners' by Jack Thomas, about Arthur and Henry Newton's wartime experiences.
