Collection of papers relating to her experiences on the Home front (1939-1941) and as a British civilian volunteer secretary for AA Section HQ, US Army, in France and at Biarritz American University, US Forces, European Theatre (1944-1945), consisting of 3 detailed diaries (1939-1941) covering her social engagements, employment, her attempts to get into fashion journalism, and her daily life containing references to her boyfriends, dancing, fashion, knitting, books, films, entertainment, air raids, her secretarial work, and her courtship by Geoffrey and the planning of their wartime wedding; 61 ts letters home to her family while working as a Secretary for AA Section HQ, US Army, and at Biarritz American University in France (12 September 1944 - 12 December 1945) forming a humerous yet serious diary of her experiences, describing conditions in Paris, entertainment, Parisian fashion, shortages, her work and her journalism course; together with various associated documents including a programme for "French Dressing", a fashion show previewing the 1946 fashions, a prospectus for Biarritz American University, copies of the "BAU Banner" (the University newspaper) and "BAU Beacon" Magazine, a comical circular (ts, 2pp) relating to indoctrination prior to return to the US, drafts of articles, and official documents relating to her employment.
