A self published graphic novel entitled 'My Life in Pieces: The Falklands War' based on his own experiences and those of others, in particular on the diary of a friend and comrade, Tracy Evans ('Evans 58'), of his service with 4 Platoon, 2 Company, 1st Battalion Welsh Guards (5th Infantry Brigade) during the Falklands War (April - June 1982), with details of their deployment and the journey to the Falklands, life aboard the QEII, details of the hundred pounds of kit they were issued, his respect for the Ghurkas, hearing of the 2nd Parachute Battalion's fighting and victory at Goose Green, landing at San Carlos, acting as 4 Platoon's runner, returning to the beachhead and boarding HMS FEARLESS, landing at Bluff Cove after an eight hour trip in a Landing Craft, the huge shock at hearing of the sinking of RFA SIR GALAHAD, firing at an Argentinian Skyhawk and seeing it shot down, moving towards Mount Harriet, the close quarters fighting, taking prisoners, a friend being killed by a shell, the Scots Guards taking Mount Tumbledown, the Argentine surrender, finding a dead Argentinian, 2 Para entering Port Stanley, moving to Fitzroy, boarding SIR GERAINT, a poignant memorial services for those killed in SIR GALAHAD, moving to Port Stanley, letting off steam and moments of reflection after the tension of the previous weeks, guarding Argentinian prisoners in the Sealink Ferry ST EDMUND, some of the Argentinians from Patagonia speaking in Welsh to the guards and finding common ground in the music of the group Queen, unloading the prisoners at Puerte Madryn, the return journey to Brize Norton via Ascension Island and Ghana, and reunions years later. With the details presented in a Beano style comic book form with plenty of humour, it makes the battles, deaths and injuries all that more shocking and poignant. With a foreword by Simon Weston OBE.
