11 ms letters written to "Jack and Leona Gordon" in California, USA (c.40pp plus envelopes, February 1943 - February 1946) while he was serving with No. 32 Service Flying Training School at RCAF Station Moose Jaw, Canada, and with 656 Squadron RAF in India and Malaya, mentioning the progress of the war, injury to his foot, his leave in England, his promotion to Corporal after the war, the demobilisation scheme, his service medals, his opinion and the behaviour of Japanese prisoners of war, demob, rationing, price control and work in post-war Britain, his arrival back in Southampton, and containing a brief account of his service with the South East Asia Air Force particularly in Malaya and Java; together with two Christmas cards (possibly 1943 and 1945) a newspaper cutting titled "Members of RAF visit Spokane" regarding his visit to America and his role in Canada training ground crews in the maintenance and repair of British planes, and 5 photographs taken in Singapore and with his mother and step-father in Birmingham.
