Microfilm copy of his ts memoirs (c380pp) entitled 'Wars and Pieces' about his service as an NCO serving with the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) in the UK and on Western Front, 1915 - 1916, including training as a theatre nurse at Camp Hospital, Belton Park, Grantham (October 1915 - January 1916), his time at 3rd Stationary Hospital, RAMC, at Rouen (March - August 1916), and treating casualties from the Somme offensive, his duties on appointment as senior ward orderly, and his evacuation with an attack of trench fever, training at the Officers Cadet School, Cookham (December 1916 - February 1917), and subsequent service as an officer with 11th (Service) Battalion (Pioneers) Durham Light Infantry on the Western Front (1917 - 1918), with details of fighting in the Ypres area and wounds suffered, and his evacuation to the UK, fighting with 15th Battalion Duhjam Light Infantry in the Cambrai area (October 1918), where he was awarded the Military Cross at Orvillers, with attacks on the Hindenberg Line. Also included is an account of his service in the Second World War as an Army Chaplain in the UK, Tunisia and Italy, and later life as a missionary in Africa and time in Australia.
