A collection of ts recollections (written 2004 – 2005 and 2013), illustrated throughout with copies of photographs, recording memories of his military service in the 1950s -1970s consisting: 'Sporting Times with the 1st Foresters' (17pp) about service as a Lieutenant with 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment) in Derna, Cyrenaica, Libya (January 1953 – April 1955), including an inspection by Queen Elizabeth II, and hunting foxes with horses and hounds with the Derna Djebel Hunt; 'Two Months with the Mortar Platoon' (21pp) recounting a secondment with the Mortar Platoon, 1st Battalion Royal Lincolnshire Regiment, during the Malayan Emergency (March – May 1958), operating in the Yong Peng area of East Johore, and including transcriptions of contact reports and ambushes against Communist terrorists; 'Recollections of the Oman' (24pp) of eighteen months spent as a Captain commanding 'A' Company, Northern Frontier Regiment, Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) (May 1964 – December 1965) based in Rostaq, Saiq and Nizwa, but having no engagement with rebels, with details of movements, recapturing an escaped prisoner, and people he met in Oman; and 'Northern Ireland Tours 1972 and 1973' (8pp) with recollections, and some transcriptions of diary entries, of serving as Community Relations Officer and OC HQ Company with 3rd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment in the Operation Banner tours in the Lower Falls, Belfast and Creggan in North Londonderry, establishing good relations with community groups and church groups, with details of setting up sporting areas in the Divis Flats, a gun battle in July 1972, and unfounded complaints about the battalion. Together with details of his service and civilian career, 1953 - 2003.
