A large collection of papers relating to the medical history of the Burma Campaign, comprising a file compiled by Dr G B Jackson CBE including: a 'Medical History of 20th Indian Infantry Division in the Burma Campaign' (25pp plus maps, December 1944 - August 1945) with details and analysis of types of casualties and illness and work by the surgical teams; 'the Medical History of Allied Land Forces French Indo China', compiled by Dr A Brook, September 1945 - February 1946 (13pp); a spoof paper and correspondence about a tropical disease called 'Throps' emanating from 20th Indian Division with cooperation from the Deputy Director of Medical Services (DDMS) Fourteenth Army; ts Surgical Notes for Field Ambulance Medical Officers (20pp) prepared by Brigadier John Bruce, DDMS Consulting Surgeon Fourteenth Army (March 1945); History of Medical Services of XXXIII Indian Corps During the Campaign in Assam and Burma 1944 - 1945 (41pp) by Brigadier G J V Crosby; An Account of the Operations of the 32nd Indian Infantry Brigade, Part III, Bishenpur and the Silchar Track, April - July 1944 (ts, 75pp, October 1944). Together with: a file entitled 'The Medical Services with 2nd Division During Operations for the Capture of Kohima and Opening of Li Diamapur-Kohima-Imphal Road, April - June 1944' (c. 80pp), edited by Colonel F K Bush ADMS 2nd Division, with details of Field Ambulances, the evacuation of casualties, equipment, occlusive dressings, resuscitation transfusion and infusion, forward surgery, psychiatric battle casualties, hygiene and sanitation, anti-malaria, dental treatment, statistics, and illustrated throughout with photographs and maps (copy no 2 for the Director General, Army Medical Services, the War Office); a file of correspondence (November 1957 - March 1958) exchanged by Professor F A E Crew, Indian Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health Historian, including ts War Diaries for 69th Indian Field Ambulances (7pp), and 154th Field Ambulance (6pp) covering the periods February 1944 - May 1945, 34th Indian Field Ambulance (3pp) (December 1944 - May 1945), and 22nd Casualty Clearing Station (8pp) (January 1944 - May 1945), interspersed with copies of original orders for each of the units, and other orders of battle. Also four press agency photographs of Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) training at a South Eastern Command Depot.
