Private Papers Colonel A E Sutherland LOM OBE

Two letters (2pp ms, 2pp ts) written while a Lieutenant Colonel with the US Fifth Army, dated January 1944 and June 1945, to Brigadier R A D Moseley OBE, thanking him for his recommendation for his award of the OBE, with remembrances of the close working relationship and friendship they shared while at Moseley’s HQ in Algiers and Constantine, Algeria, the importance of good Anglo-American relationships, and giving details of his travels in Italy and North West Europe with the Fifth Army and Ninth Army. Together with a signed photograph of Sutherland in US Army uniform, with a dedication to Tony and Peggy Moseley.
