July 1940 – January 1942 to his family in Lydney (Gloucestershire) during his signals training at Prestatyn (N Wales) and subsequent service with 1 and 2 Companies Malaya Command Signals in the Far East; 16 letters to Harris from his parents, October 1941 – March 1942; 13 postcards and telegrams sent between son and other family members during and immediately after the period of his captivity as a prisoner of war in Changi and Kranji camps, 1942 – 1945; issue no. 11 of a handmade Changi magazine 'Camp Pie'; small quantity of Harris' army service documents and two MI9 questionnaires completed by him after his repatriation, with information pertaining to his captivity; miscellaneous papers including 'Changi Hospital electricity scheme' and two electricity circuit diagrams for Roberts Barracks hospital, Changi; photographs and commercial postcards pertaining to Changi and Malaya; service medals; small quantity of documents regarding the wartime service of HBH's father, Lieutenant F H Harris, in the Forest of Dean Battalion, Home Guard / Local Defence Volunteers.
