A collection of papers relating to the last year of British Forces in Aden by Captain I B R Fowler, Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Middle East Land Forces (MELF) in Aden, and comprising: an appointment diary for the year 1967, including meetings, dinners, the movements of personnel and the withdrawal from Aden; a programme (9pp) for the orientation visit for Major General Phillip Tower, GOC (designate) MELF (May 1967); an invitation list of those invited to a supper to welcome General Tower (1p, 19 May 1967); a list of accredited members of the press in Aden (1p, November 1967); a cipher message (1p, n.d.) relating to peace talks about Aden in Geneva; a programme (2pp) for the withdrawal from Aden (27-30 Nov 1967); in-flight information from the pilot of an RAF Transport plane to be distributed to the passengers (3pp, n.d.); some general correspondence and thank you letters sent to the GOC (7pp); and the last message from Aden after the withdrawal that he sent when he and General Tower landed on HMS INTREPID after being picked up by 42 Commando, Royal Marines, as the last out of Aden (30 November 1967), together with a folder covered in a military map of Aden.
