A large collection of papers relating to his military career in the Royal Field Artillery and Royal Artillery, including: a notebook of harness inspections (July - August 1910); his Officers Training Corps (OTC) examination papers (September 1913) and review of questions (November 1913); papers relating to his service in 2nd East Anglian Brigade Royal Field Artillery (later redesignated 270th Brigade RFA, where he was under the command of his father, Lieutenant Colonel R M Laurie DSO), including an ms pocket diary with entries for January - March 1917, an Army Book 136 containing ms RFA training notes, an Army Book 136 containing his ms notes concerning Left Section, 3rd Battery, with details of the men and horses of 'C' Sub section and 'D' Sub section (1915 - 1917), including names, numbers, ages, dates of joining, pre-war employment, and their training, promotion, and remarks relating to death, wounding or transfer, together with a rough diary of the section from November 1915 from leaving the UK to arriving in Jordan (January 1916); a notebook of targets and barrages; papers and correspondence concerning 340th Battery RFA (1922 - 1926), mainly concerning the Battery prize fund; an exercise book containing ms notes from the London District School of Instruction (May 1939 - May 1940); operational orders, memoranda, and other papers relating to his command of 22nd Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA and 107th LAA Regiment RA during the Second World War; correspondence received by Laurie including letters from his wife and daughter (1919 - 1945, mostly from May 1945).
