Ms account (5pp) based on extracts from letters (no longer extant) that she wrote to her mother during the five weeks that she was based at Belsen as a VAD Corporal serving with the 29th British General Hospital (May - June 1945) with useful details concerning the administration and staffing of the medical facilities, her duties and conditions in the wards as well as poignant references to the physical and mental improvement in her patients, who were former inmates from the concentration camp; also two ms letters (6pp and 5pp) written before and during her tour of duty at Belsen describing her unit's VE Day celebrations in Belgium and her social life, an ms letter (8pp, early 1945) describing conditions at a camp reception station in Barking, Essex, and local V2 damage and an ms air mail letter (March 1946) describing conditions at a hospital in Barrackpore, India to which she had been posted.
