17 crayon & pencil drawings of scenes in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, made by a Belgian prisoner and given to Mr Sanderson after the camp was liberated in April 1945 – the drawings include caricatures of German guards and scenes of prisoner ill-treatment and degradation, and are captioned in Flemish (with listing in English); together with other miscellaneous papers retained by Sanderson from that period, including a few notes on war crimes suspects and prisoner statements taken at Belsen, photographs taken in the camp after liberation, group photograph of 369 LAA Battery with whom Sanderson was serving, printed Roll of Honour of 113 LAA Regiment RA (parent unit of 369 Bty), printed message of thanks to all Second Army personnel from Lt Gen Miles Dempsey (May 1945), and a transcription of an oral history interview with Joseph Sanderson concerning his life and wartime service, made for Beamish Open Air Museum in 1997.
