An extensive collection of over 1700 ms letters, transcribed into two published volumes (2008), written between him and his sweetheart, later wife, Grace Lillian Malin during his service as a Private and later officer with the 13th Battalion The King's (Liverpool Regiment) (8th Brigade, 25th Division until April 1916, then 9th Brigade, 25th Division), August 1914 – December 1918, covering his training in Blackpool (November 1914), Bournemouth, Hampshire, and Aldershot prior to embarkation for France (September 1915), and his service along the Western Front including Hazebrook (September 1915), in the trenches at Sanctuary Wood (October 1915), Delville Wood (July 1916), and Bazentin Ridge, where he received a 'blighty', convalescence at Osborne House, Isle of Wight (July 1916), his posting to Fort Hubberstone, Milford Haven (November 1916) before returning to the Front, and his eventual discharge following gassing at Gommecourt (September 1918), containing few details of his active service and commenting on general service life and conditions, his feelings on being separated from her, and arrangements for their marriage. His wife's letters contain interesting notes on her work as a VAD nurse in a local hospital in Derby, preparing food for the canteen, and the impact of the war on her life. Together with portrait photographs of Sellers and his wife.
