Photocopied ts transcript (15pp) of an oral history recording made in 1988 covering his service with the King's Royal Rifle Corps: in the United Kingdom (1940 – 1941) with the 2nd Battalion KRRC; during operations in the Western Desert, initially with the 9th Battalion KRRC, then as a company commander with the 1st Battalion KRRC (7th Armoured Division) with useful details about living conditions, the Battle of Alamein and its aftermath and the final stages of the North African campaign (1941 – 1943) as well as interesting references to fellow officers and to Field Marshal Montgomery; as a company commander with the 2nd Battalion KRRC (4th Armoured Brigade) in North West Europe (1944) with brief details of his service after recovery from serious wounds; as GSO 2 to Major General G P B Roberts (February – May 1945) and liaison officer at Montgomery's Tac HQ (May – December 1945) and ultimately with the 11th Battalion KRRC in Greece (circa January – June 1946).
