Collection of material relating to his service in the Royal Artillery and captivity as a prisoner of war in German hands during the Second World War, comprising: bound album titled `The Ofladium Theatre', containing a typescript history (26pp) of the POW theatre set up in Stalag 383 (Hohenfels, Bavaria) and photographs, cast-lists, programmes, drawings and other ephemera of the productions which were put on there; a large number of photographs, snapshots and postcards, mostly from Stalag 383 and Stalag XXID (Posen) showing theatrical productions, POW groups and camp scenes; miscellaneous official documents from Wheele's RA service and captivity, also his POW tags; and a small quantity of official documents regarding the WAAF Driver service of his future wife, Marjorie Lee, at various bases in Essex and Cambridgeshire [Note: Wheele was taken prisoner by the Germans at Dunkirk, 1940].
