Ts transcriptions of speeches and sermons (28pp) he made to various groups, between 1935 and 1947, drawing primarily on his experiences serving as a Captain with the 6th Battalion Dorset Regiment (50th Brigade, 17th (Northern) Division) throughout the First World War, reminiscing about his impressions of France, the conditions in trenches of the Western Front and the importance of Remembrance Sunday, and also commenting briefly on the evacuation of children during the Second World War; overall the writings are very religious in tone. Together with three transcribed letters he wrote to his parents when he was a child, August 1893 – May 1897, providing an insight into his upbringing as well as notes from the diary he kept whilst stationed on the Front Line in France, 1 February – 19 August 1916, recording simply his movements, the number of casualties and the intensity of shelling going on around him.
