Word processed memoir (210pp) of his life (written c.1990) including chapters on his experiences as assistant surgeon at the Royal Cancer Hospital, London (September 1939 - November 1941) and as a surgical officer with the RAMC at No.25 General Hospital, Bangor, Northern Ireland (November 1941 - mid-1942), with No.2 Field Hospital, Ormskirk, Lancashire and No.12 Casualty Clearing Unit, Llandillo (mid-1942 - November 1942), with No.2 Field Hospital in Setif, North Africa (November 1942 - May 1943), with No.5 General Hospital at Bone (May 1943 - July 1944) and at Assisi, Italy (July 1944 - May1945), and in command of No.90 British General Hospital in Malta (May 1945 - January 1946), and also covering his service as Colonel with the Territorial Army at No,57 (Middlesex) General Hospital (November 1947 - April 1959), giving general details of his duties and experiences; together with a detailed ms journal (55pp) covering his overseas service in North Africa, Italy and Malta (November 1942 - December 1945) including details of his work, surgical cases, leisure activities, the depth of his spiritual faith, his involvement with a nursing scheme newly launched in Malta, and his thoughts on peace and the use of atomic weapons. Also with the collection are 3 ms notebooks (191pp, 36pp, and 34pp) covering surgical cases (1942 - 1943), theology, and the history and culture of Malta, 2 sketch books, and 63 photographs reflecting various stages of his military career.
