Memoirs (3 ring-bound volumes, circa 70pp ts, with photographs and other illustrative material) of his experiences during the Second World War after leaving school in 1941, including a successful appeal before an `Essential Works Tribunal' regarding a change of employer, working as a clerk for the National Westminster Bank, the `Blitz' and fire-watching duties, service with the Essex Home Guard, call-up into the RAF in April 1944 and overseas service as an Air Gunner, initially at the El Ballah Air Gunnery Training School and 76 Operational Training Unit at Aqir in Egypt, Liberator bomber training at Abu Suier, posting to 40 Squadron at Foggia, Italy, describing in detail the various bombing raids carried out by the Squadron during April 1945 over Yugoslavia, northern Italy and Austria, with particular reference to the raid on Freilassing marshalling yards (including the experiences of a family living in the town at that time, whose son the author met after the war), continued service with 40 Squadron at Foggia in the immediate post-war period before transferring to Palestine, AHQ Levant at Jerusalem, his experience of the `troubles' there including the bombing of the King David Hotel in July 1946 and other attacks on British installations, concluding with his return to the UK at the end of 1946.
