Wordprocessed memoir (15pp) recording how, as a subaltern in 18th Division Troops Company RASC, he completed the troopship voyage from the United Kingdom to Singapore on the SOBIESKI and the USS MOUNT VERNON (November 1941 - January 1942) and became a prisoner of war on the fall of Singapore (February 1942) and describing his time in captivity in Singapore in Changi, Farrer Park and Towner Road camps (February 1942 - March 1943) and then in the camps in Thailand at Kanburi (March - April 1943), Banpong (April - December 1943) and Kanburi again (December 1943 - August 1945) and Nakom Nyok till liberation (August - September 1945) and his repatriation, and including a particularly interesting account of how he set up and ran a paper production 'factory' at Kanburi in 1944 - 1945, using rice straw, potassium carbonate and, later, alum; together with two samples, including the alum, of the paper that he manufactured.
