5 ms letters (20pp) sent by Morris Cohen, under his alias 'Peter Kroger' and one ms letter (2pp) by his wife Helen (Lona Cohen), January 1968 - September 1969, written to their friend Miss Winnie Myers while serving sentences in HM Prison Parkhurst for transmitting secret information to the Russians as part of the Portland spy ring, mentioning their Christmas celebrations while in prison, arranging visits, discussing the antiquarian book trade which was their cover and looking forward to their forthcoming flight to Poland, together with an ms letter (8pp, 4 November 1982) written to Miss Myers from Warsaw, referring mainly to their deteriorating health, two postcards and a Christmas card (December 1982). The collection also includes two Visiting Orders (21 August 1968 and 30 September 1969) permitting Miss Myers to visit the Krogers in Parkhurst; a photograph taken and annotated by Helen Kroger showing a garden party at Cranley Drive, Ruislip in the 1950s, with Peter Kroger standing next to Frank and Nora Doel (friends of the Kroger's in the book dealing trade); Peter Kroger's business card; a printed programme (36pp, 1983) for the play 'Pack of Lies' by Hugh Whitemore which was based upon the story of the Krogers' detection and arrest; and two newspaper cuttings, both from 1983, concerning the alleged inaccuracies in the play 'Pack of Lies' and the Krogers' history since leaving England for Eastern Europe in 1969.
