Ts transcription (64pp), translated from the original French, of his 'war diary' for the period May 1940 - May 1945, recording his and his family's experiences at the time of the German invasion of Belgium, their flight as refugees from their home city of Malines / Mechelen to northern France and on to England (his wife was a British national), temporary accommodation in various parts of London before settling in Brixton, his search for work and eventual employment as an administrative clerk with a Belgian Army-in-exile unit with whom he briefly served in Tenby and Leamington Spa before returning to London following the serious illness of his young son, air raids on Brixton and surrounding areas of south London during the Battle of Britain and the Blitz, instances of anti-Belgian sentiment amongst the British populace, the V-1 and V-2 raids on London after June 1944, and preparing to return to Belgium at the end of the war.
