171 well-written ms letters to his family covering: his service in France with the 1st Warwickshire Battery Royal Horse Artillery (RHA) (2nd Cavalry Division), November 1914 - March 1915; as a Battery Commander in the 27th Brigade Royal Field Artillery (RFA) (5th Division), March 1915 - May 1916, including at Hill 60 and the Second Battle of Ypres and with references to experiments in sound ranging; commanding the 1st Warwickshire Battery RHA (1st Cavalry Division to November 1916, then 29th Division), May 1916 - July 1917, including in the Battles of the Somme and Arras; and commanding the 17th Brigade RFA (29th Division), July 1917 - January 1919, at the Third Battle of Ypres, Cambrai, the Battle of the Lys and final advance, with good letters on the Armistice and treatment of Germans.
