Bound ts memoir (14pp) covering his service in the Royal Signals (from January 1942 onwards) during training at Prestatyn, North Wales, at OCTU in Catterick, with 8 Corps Signals, 41 Line Section and, from August 1943, with the Special Operations Executive principally as a signals officer and instructor; during training at STS 54; at the Interservices Signals Unit 6 at Massingham, west of Algiers; then from December 1943 onwards with No 1 Special Force in Italy at the Signals HQ in Monopoli, the SOE Signals School at Fasano, with a mobile signals office near Siena, as Signals Intelligence Officer, Monopoli, September - December 1944 and finally at the SOE Signals School again at Fasano and later north of Siena; with Force 136 in Ceylon at the SOE Signals Office near Colombo, July 1945 - February 1946; in India dealing with the closure of the Colombo Station and as a staff captain in New Delhi prior to demobilisation in September 1946; also ms notes (3pp) about his service and correspondence (circa 70 letters, written 1990 - 1995) between him and SOE historian Chris Woods and other former members of SOE based in Italy containing much additional detail about the personnel of No 1 SF, postwar reunions and photocopies of original papers relating to the unit including a history of the W/T school, an autographed Christmas menu and movement order as well as a wartime photograph of SOE personnel at the W/T school.
